TEQTON'S WORK WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES AND CSR
Teqton lays the foundations for a sustainable and greener future.
Teqton can be part of DGNB-certified construction projects, aligning with our goal to contribute to greener constructions.
With Teqton as a supplier, we can provide LCA and EPD, allowing you to achieve various certifications in sustainable construction. One of these certifications is the DGNB Certification, which is based on the UN's definition of sustainability.
The DGNB system is evaluated based on six main areas, with environmental quality, economic quality, and social quality accounting for 22.5%. Additionally, technical quality is worth 15%, process quality is 12.5%, and site quality is 5%.
Depending on the level of certification you are aiming for, you can be awarded platinum, gold, or silver. There are also additional recognitions, such as the DGNB Heart, which focuses on well-being and indoor climate, and the DGNB Diamond, which acknowledges architectural excellence.
DGNB is a sustainable certification of buildings where a total of 49 criteria are assessed and awarded points. These points are then combined to determine a rating from bronze to platinum.
The 49 criteria are evaluated within the main parameters of environment, economics, and social aspects, with all three factors being equally weighted. Measurements include aspects like lifecycle assessment of transportation, energy and water consumption (during and after construction), materials, durability, accessibility, and indoor climate in the completed construction.
Green Building Council Denmark is responsible for the DGNB certification in Denmark.
The DGNB heart is an additional recognition for buildings that that do something special for health and indoor climate. The purpose of the DGNB heart is to encourage more building owners to prioritize indoor climate, especially for the people who will live or work in the buildings afterward. Many public organizations have started to build with the aim of achieving the DGNB certification, so there is indeed a growing interest in the DGNB heart as well.
The DGNB Diamond is awarded as an additional recognition for constructions with exceptional architectural quality. The purpose of the DGNB diamond evaluation is to promote and acknowledge architectural excellence in sustainable construction.
There are four major certification schemes for sustainable construction. At Teqton, we also have the capability to assist with the American LEED (which has been used on several Danish construction projects), the British BREEAM, and the German DGNB certification. Unfortunately, we do not offer assistance with the French HQE certification.
