IS ROLL CONCRETE ON PILE FOUNDATION AN IMPOSSIBLE COMBINATION?
When Biltema was to build two central warehouses in Sweden, it was to be a 92,000 m2 rolled concrete floor with Teqbase and Teqplan, as well as 8,000 m2 of reinforced concrete floor.
Normally, there is nothing strange in that order, but since the port area's soil conditions were soft, NCC chose a foundation work with piles consisting of wood and concrete, as well as stabilization of terrain decks through admixture of cement in crushed aggregate.
The method of combining pile foundation with a thick layer of approx. 120 cm of stabilized material has proven to be both economical and at the same time a good technically functioning solution..

Biltema is expanding in the Nordic region and concentrating its warehouses in Halmstad, Sweden. The two central warehouses with a total of 100,000 m2 have been built, where Teqton Sweden AB has delivered 92,000 m2 of rolled concrete floors of our Teqbase and Teqplan and 8,000 m2 of reinforced concrete floors.
